Anxiety Is Loud, But It Is Not Always True

Anxiety has a way of speaking with urgency. It tells you that everything is falling apart, that you are failing, that something terrible is waiting around the corner. And after a while, fear can begin to sound like truth. But not every thought deserves your trust. One of the hardest parts of anxiety is learning that your mind can be exhausted and convincing at the same time. Thoughts fueled by fear often feel real, even when they are not rooted in truth. This is why we must return to what God says.
Anxiety says: “You are alone.”
God says: “I am with you always.” — Matthew 28:20
Anxiety says: “You will not make it through this.”
God says: “My grace is sufficient for you.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9
Anxiety says: “You are too broken.”
God says: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” — Psalm 34:18
Fear may be loud, but God’s truth is steadier. So when anxious thoughts rise tonight, do not measure your worth by the volume of your fear. Measure it by the faithfulness of the God who remains beside you through it all. If this encouraged you, you can continue with the full Truth vs Anxiety card collection here:
